About Us

A crowd gathered outside the Elks Lodge building.
A crowd gathered outside the Elks Lodge building.

Out on Arlington Street in Ada, Lodge 1640 has built the kind of reputation that spreads by word of mouth: cold beer on tap, a relaxed bar room with three or four big-screen TVs, and a crowd that keeps the drama outside where it belongs. Pull up a stool on any given evening and you'll find members catching a game, swapping stories, and genuinely enjoying each other's company. That 4.5-star rating across nearly a hundred reviews doesn't come from flashy marketing. It comes from people who keep coming back.

Step outside and the property opens up into something unexpected for a lodge inside city limits. A shaded picnic area borders a pair of large ponds, giving families a reason to linger long after the food is gone. Members with RVs or camp trailers have dedicated hookup spots on the grounds, making Lodge 1640 a practical home base for visitors passing through Pontotoc County. It's a full-service property that most members discover one layer at a time.

What We Offer

Lodge 1640 covers a lot of ground under one roof and one set of grounds. The bar is the daily anchor, stocked with cold beer and staffed by people who know regulars by name. Multiple large TVs mean you won't miss a snap, a pitch, or a tip-off regardless of where you sit.

For occasions that call for a bigger setting, the lodge's event venue handles everything from wedding receptions and anniversary parties to family reunions and civic gatherings. The outdoor picnic area with pond views makes a natural backdrop for warm-weather events. Members also have access to RV and trailer hookups on site, a perk that's rare for a fraternal lodge and genuinely useful for out-of-town guests attending multi-day events. Food and drink service rounds out the experience, so hosts don't need to coordinate outside catering for most functions.

The Elks gave America
Flag Day.

Long before it was a national observance, the Order set aside June 14th to honor the flag. Patriotism has always been one of our cardinal principles, and every lodge meeting still closes the same way it has for over a century.
